Sound Advice: 6 Podcasts

From fashion deep dives to true-crime twists, podcasts can be hit or miss, but every so often you find one that makes you miss your stop or stay in the bath too long. Here are six podcasts the Glorious team is currently rating.

1.

Articles of Interest, By Radiotopia, Fashion & culture
Here’s a podcast that asks the question “why do we wear the things we wear?” and then goes down fascinating rabbit holes. Avery Trufelman explores clothing, identity, culture and design in ways you won’t expect — think: the hidden history of pockets, or how a textile trend evolved from the military to high fashion. It’s clever, curious and weirdly calming. The “American Ivy” series is especially good if you love a bit of style history. LISTEN.

2.

Two Hot Takes, Spotify/ Depop, Comedy / life-stories
If you ever find yourself shouting “Dear lord why did they do that” at your phone, this is your podcast. Morgan Absher and her rotating co-hosts rummage through the wildest Reddit tales — broken relationships, workplace chaos, “AITA” dilemmas — and then go full commentary mode. It’s brilliant as a background while you’re doing house chores or on a long walk and just want something that makes you laugh and wince in equal measure. A recent favourite? “Bridesmaid Ruins Wedding” — absolute chaos. LISTEN.

3.

The Rocker Skating Podcast, Independent production, Sport
If you’ve ever watched figure skating and thought, “hang on, how did they just do that?”, this one’s for you. Jackie Wong, Michelle Ellis and Tara Nichols unpack the world of competitive skating with proper insight and a lot of laughs. They break down big events, scoring controversies and the artistry behind each routine, making even the most complex moves feel understandable. It’s smart, nerdy in the best way, and full of love for the sport. A recent episode covering the 2025 Grand Prix season is a perfect entry point. LISTEN.

4.

Hurt to Healing, Independent production, Mental-health & wellbeing
If you’re after something deeper and real, this podcast gives space to personal stories about mental health — things like anxiety, addiction, imposter syndrome and recovery. Pandora Morris brings guests on to talk openly about what healing really looks like, without sugar-coating it. It doesn’t feel preachy, just human and warm. A good place to start is her chat with Freddie Pearson about learning to sit with pain rather than run from it. LISTEN.

5.

The RE-CAP Show with Tobin Heath & Christen Press, By RE-INC, Sport
For fans of women’s sport looking for something smart and insider-y, this ticks the boxes. Two of the USWNT’s most recognisable players — Tobin Heath and Christen Press — break down matches, talk culture, tackle big issues in women’s sport and share stories that only players at their level could tell. It’s fun, sharp, and gives women’s football the kind of thoughtful analysis it deserves. Their recent chat about NWSL playoffs is a great listen. LISTEN.

6.

Unicorn Girl, By Apple Original / Seven Hills, True-crime
You know the “too perfect to be true” vibe? That’s the starting point here. The story follows a woman who presented herself as having it all: house, kids, business empire, empowerment brand. But then cracks appear and you’re left wondering whether she was a visionary or a master of deception. Tense, twisty and absolutely binge-worthy. LISTEN.

Happy Listening!
