It’s an exciting weekend for women’s sport! Not sure what you should be watching and where? We’ve got you covered.
Top billing this weekend goes to the Rugby World Cup which will see the Red Roses’ face off with the host nation New Zealand in the final. Regardless of the outcome, the match itself will make history as it’s set to break the all-time attendance record for a women’s rugby match. Tickets for New Zealand’s largest sports stadium, Eden Park, have completely sold out. Set your alarm clocks and join the stadium of 50,000 rugby fans from the comfort of your sofa this Saturday morning at 6:30am GMT on ITV1.
If live sport is not in your interest, there are a plethora of new films and documentaries surrounding women’s sport. One of our recent favourites is The Wall: Climb For Gold. This gripping and emotional documentary follows four elite female climbers: Brooke Raboutou, Janja Garnbret, Miho Nonaka and Shauna Coxey (Read Shauna’s Glorious story here) as they face the sporting challenge of a lifetime. Watch them attempt to compete in the first-ever Olympic Climbing Competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. From the same director as Drive To Survive this documentary is a must see. Watch The Wall: Climb For Gold on Netflix UK here.
We’re currently glued to our screens watching the fantastic Jill Scott in the jungle. Fresh off her success of this summer’s Euros, the Lioness has already shown her top team working skills and made the first terrifying challenge look like a breeze. We have no doubt she will soon be showing some of her ‘newer’ *cough Matt Hancock* campmates who’s boss when it comes to competing in challenges. Watch Jill and her campmates every night on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! at 9pm on ITV1
