Freya: Surge Timer

Freya is the world’s first hypnobirthing-friendly surge (contraction) timer and virtual birth partner. Available in 6 languages, Freya will coach you through each surge with a simple breathing technique and help you to relax in between with positive affirmations, calming visualisations and guided relaxations. Water Reminder – Daily Tracker

How many times do we tell ourselves we’re going to drink 2 litres of water only to realise by 3pm you’ve barely drunk a thing. There are all kinds of important health benefits that come from downing enough water and being properly hydrated, from preventing headaches to aiding digestion. Unfortunately, it isn’t always easy to know for sure that you’re getting the right amount every day. That’s where Water Reminder – Daily Tracker comes in. The app will help you to calculate how much water your body needs, will track your hydration, and gently remind you to drink water to fulfil your goal!

I am – Daily Affirmations (as featured in this Glorious story)

How many negative thoughts have been endlessly repeating in your mind? Daily affirmations can help rewire our brains, build self-esteem and change negative thought patterns. Empower yourself by verbally affirming your dreams and ambitions. Choose from many daily intentions and set reminders to be delivered throughout the day. Positive affirmations can not only help make major shifts in your mindset, they also serve as prompts and daily reminders on what you are truly capable of, making sure you have an amazing day, every day. Try positive affirmations with this popular app today.

Headspace: Mindful Meditation

Meditate and sleep soundly. Headspace is your guide to practicing mindfulness in your everyday life. Learn how to relax, manage stress, and focus your energy to become more centred and well rested. Create a calm and positive environment with Headspace. The app offers guided meditation, sleep meditation, and breathing exercises. Learn mindfulness skills from world-class experts like former monk and Headspace co-founder Andy Puddicombe. Choose from hundreds of guided meditations on a new topic each day: anxiety, focus, relaxation, and more! Start with a free trial.

Calm

Calm is the number one app for sleep and meditation and is for anyone, whether you’re brand new to meditation or a seasoned expert. It’s also for anyone who needs a mental break, a soothing sound, or a peaceful night’s rest. Their guided meditations are available in lengths of 3 to 25 minutes, so you can choose the perfect length to fit your schedule. They offer a new 10-minute Daily Calm every day, Sleep Stories narrated by well-known voices like Matthew McConaughey, a music library with exclusive tracks from top artists, short videos with mindful movement and gentle stretching for every body type. Why not take a moment to prioritise yourself today?!

Intermission – Breaks For Eyes

Sitting for hours in front of a computer screen has its consequences! Headaches, eye pain, burnout, and what doctors call Computer Vision Syndrome. Intermission (formerly Breaks For Eyes) helps you look away from your devices, so you can avoid those side effects. By default, Intermission will block your screen every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds. It’s completely customisable – you can choose to have subtle reminders instead of having your entire screen blocked and can adjust how often and for how long you take breaks. This app is available for Mac. Take care of your eyes!
