Deanna Hong’s parents gave her her first video camera when she was just 13-years-old. At high school, she’d film her lacrosse teammates and practices; later studying a communications degree at UCLA. Little did she know that her alma mater would become her workplace for nearly seven years to date.
During her senior year of university, San Francisco-born Deanna worked on an internship with the UCLA athletics department videoing various sports, and was assigned a gymnastics-related story in which she interviewed team personnel including Miss Val – former head coach of Valorie Kondos. That interview snowballed into Deanna becoming team videographer in around September 2014, a year after she graduated.
